Rooster Bots is a student-driven aerial drone competition team based in Wardensville, West Virginia. We design, build, program, and pilot drones for competitive events that challenge our skills in engineering, teamwork, strategy, and problem-solving.
As students from a small Appalachian community, we take pride in proving that innovation can come from anywhere. Every season, our members work together to troubleshoot technical challenges, improve flight performance, and sharpen our communication and leadership skills. From wiring and coding to practicing flight drills, each team member plays an important role in our success.
Rooster Bots is more than a competition team — it’s a place where students gain confidence, explore career pathways in STEM, and build real-world skills that prepare us for the future. We are proud to represent Wardensville and West Virginia while inspiring other young people to get involved in technology and aviation.
Focused. Determined. Ready to take flight.

Rooster Bots believes learning doesn’t stop at competition. As students passionate about drones and technology, we enjoy sharing what we’ve learned with others in our community. Through outreach efforts, we aim to connect with younger students, spark interest in STEM, and show that innovation is accessible to everyone. By stepping into leadership roles and serving as role models, our team members grow as communicators and mentors while helping inspire the next generation to explore technology with confidence.
